GROUNDWORK

The Groundwork program is a program designed to provide support for those 15 years of age and older dealing with financial insecurity by providing them with training, in-person mental-health supports, mentorship, safe employment options and volunteer opportunities.

The program is being run in collaboration with four community partners including: Glowing Hearts Psychotherapy, Jeanny Salmon Therapy & Clinical Services, Bradford Community Church and Anchored Counselling & Psychotherapy, along with a team of mentors in hopes to provide supports to 4 individuals.

Through the United Way Simcoe Muskoka, their Collaborative Grant and amazing funds raised through the Coldest Night of the Year we will receive funding from them over 3 years!

On November 5th 2024, we announced the first individuals who were chosen to be the participants of the Groundwork program.

We are now starting on our second round of participants and will be informing the 4 participants.

As part of the Groundwork program, the Team and the Participants travelled up to the beautiful Ontario Pioneer Camp in Port Sydney to attend a Groundwork team building retreat on November 12th, 2024. It was a beautiful sunny day where the core team, mentors, volunteers and participants participated in many team building and trust building activities! It was a fun day had by all.
