The Guest House Corporate Sponsors

  • Jeanny

Jeanny isn't just a corporate sponsor, she was our very FIRST corporate sponsor. Not only did she agree on the spot, to support us $100/month she also offered to serve as part of The Out of the Cold Cafe volunteer team that we are partnering with CrossTrainers Canada to provide beginning this November 1 - April 30. That's SUPPORT!

  • Peter

Every time I've called Peter at No Frill's he has come through. When he heard about the house project not only did he immediately ask me to tell him everything I needed for the first work party but he even offered to come work. He donated everything from lightbulbs to cleaning supplies and supplies like gloves, masks and hand sanitizer to keep our volunteers safe!

  • Lawrence

Lawrence is an example of a local business owner that invests in his community. Through his business, Decorator's Edge Benjamin Moore, he has been supporting us for over 15 years with paint for various jobs. When I came in three weeks ago he donated two 5 gallon pales of paint! It was enough to paint every wall in this two story house! He also gave me a ridiculous discount on ceiling paint!

  • Dan

Dan is another new friend and local business owner of Bradford Plumbing. I was desperate for a plumber for two weeks and finally just google searched Plumbers Bradford and low and behold Bradford Plumbing came up! As soon as I told him about the project and what the house would be used for he said he would come the SAME DAY and take a look a the tub we needed replaced. Two days later he was back at the house on a Saturday to do the work, for FREE! Since then he's also let me borrow one of his tools to do some tile cutting. Lending out your tools as a professional is a big deal, one that was not lost on me!

  • Jim Jr.

While talking to Dan from Bradford Plumbing about the materials needed for the new tub and faucet he said, "Call Jim Jr. at Home Hardware, I think he'll probably help out." He was right! As soon as Jim Jr. understood the project he said I'll talk directly to Dan and make sure he gets what he needs! Another amazing local business owner. His father, Jim Sr. donated to CrossTrainers when Patti and I were first opening the Hub youth centre back in 2003!.

  • Steve

Steve is a new friend who owns Electrical Elite. He donated his time to walk through the entire house and inspected every outlet before we started any work. What a weight off my mind to know the electrical is in good shape. He also offered to donate his time to put in a proper stove outlet and some other seemingly small jobs to him that are a big deal to us!

  • Mark

Home Depot was a big supporter of CrossTrainers when we renovated the youth centre but with a lull in renovations over the years and a change in general managers we lost our connection with them. I was very impressed to read that Home Depot has recently created their own charity called 'The Orange Door' which focuses on youth homelessness. When I shared what we were doing with the Guest House Mark, the new GM was supportive right away!

  • Mhairi

I have lived on the same street as Beeton Truck and Auto Wreckers for 7 years but only met two of the owners a few months ago. After sharing with Mhairi what we were doing with the Guest House and the Out of the Cold Cafe she was quick to offer support as well. Not only did she write a check to CrossTrainers but she also donated snow shovels, a weed wacker, fire extinguishers and first aid kits.

  • Susan

In 2014 I started WOW Living based on a suggestion Susan made. My speaking ministry was growing and after writing a book I created WOW Living to help keep the books clean between the charity (CrossTrainers) and my public speaking/teaching ministry. She has been CrossTrainers auditor for over 15 years and there's no one I trust more when it comes to accounting and solid business advice.
